Novafast is proud to announce that it has been awarded certification to BAE Systems Australia‘s Partnering4Success program.
 
Partnering4Success is BAE Systems’ flagship program for supplier development and relationship management across Australia. It takes industry knowledge and anticipates future capability needs to create win-win outcomes through shared goals, collaborative processes and a culture of continual improvement between all parties.
 
Novafast’s Business Manager, David Figallo and Operations Development Manager, Adam Levi, attended the program’s launch session in March 2024.
 
Novafast looks forward to continuing a successful business relationship with BAE Systems Australia and all program suppliers.

Novafast expands its export opportunities and opens its global reach through BAE Global Access Program 

Novafast’s innovative solutions in advanced composite products were showcased during the visit of BAE Global Access Program team to our facility in Adelaide on 2nd May.

 

Novafast presented its first-of-its-kind robotic technologies supporting the delivery of critical components for the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) Hunter Class Frigate program. The visit was to highlight Novafast’s importance as BAE’s local Australian manufacturing partner and potential supplier for other large global defence projects.

 

We were delighted to visit Novafast’s facility in Adelaide and witness the impressive capabilities of their composite solutions, including their advanced use of robotics for automated manufacturing,” said Jeremy Satchell, Head of Global Access Program at BAE Systems Australia. “Novafast’s commitment to quality and innovation is evident in their products, and we are confident that their composite solutions will now be competitive in the global market while also successfully supplying the Hunter Class Frigate Program.”

 

Novafast’s contribution to the Hunter Class Frigate program and their preparedness to support Australian and Allied partner defence programs both onshore and internationally demonstrate its importance as a local Australian manufacturing partner to BAE and its connection to the recently announced AUKUS pact.

Novafast celebrates opening of new $4m advanced manufacturing facility

Novafast officially launched its new state-of-the-art $4million facility on Tuesday 28 June, showcasing Australian-first defence manufacturing capabilities for composite production after securing its first major defence contract.

The facility was officially opened by Deputy Premier of South Australia and Minister for Defence and Space Industries the Honourable Susan Close MP. Guest speakers included Craig Lockhart, Managing Director BAE Systems Australia – Maritime and Novafast Holdings CEO Chev Charles Figallo OAM OSJ. The event was attended by more than 130 political dignitaries and key industry executives.

5 Year Design & Supply Contract

Novafast has secured a Borefields piping program of works which will require a continual supply of Novaflo piping over the next five years. Pipe sizes will range from 50mm-250mm with burst pressure requirements to exceed 12 MPa and temperature ratings up to 93 degrees celsius.

Business Manager David Figallo says “By securing this new contract this will allow Novafast to create local multi-disciplined employment opportunities at its Adelaide facilities. The contract is also key to supporting Novafast’s local growth and expansion plans forecast for 2021. We would like to thank our customers who support our Australian business which facilitates these great growth opportunities, particularly in a time where COVID has made local business all that more important.”

Novafast is on track to deliver its two first deliveries of pipe for mid-late February.

Western Australian Borefield Project

Novafast recently supplied 6 Shipments of NovaFlo 2500 pipe to a Western Australian Borefield Project. The DN400 (16 inch) pipe supplied had a pressure rating of 3.5 MPa.

Keylock connection was used for quick and easy installation which also removed the need for concrete restraints. NovaFlo 2500 is the perfect choice for mine water systems due to corrosion resistance and low maintenance requirements.

Offshore Oil Platforms

NovaFlo 1000 FR (fire-resistant) piping is ideal for offshore oil platforms. Most recently Novafast completed the design, supply and installation of firewater piping as well as the design and supply of downhole caisson pipes on a platform in Malaysia.

NovaFlo 1000 FR is a Glass-Fibre Reinforced Vinlester Epoxy (GRVE) piping which can be manufactured to comply with standards such as ISO14692. Pipe sizes range from DN15 to DN1000 and pressures of PN6 to PN24.
